Chapter three - to fly like a bird - almost

This week Miss P tries to get bicyles to fly..she got the idea from Mr Shrapnell who inadvertently gave her the idea whilst at his wits end...

“But there is nothing on the timetable about using the hall at that time!! You were supposed to be doing English. Instead you asked the children to break the rules on purpose and fly darts round the hall! You might as well get them making helicopters or something just as stupid” shouted Mr. Shrapnell.

She asks the children to to design a helibike and them of course tests them out much to the wrath of Mr.Shrapnell, who sees no value in creative teaching! Of course there is chaos on the field with loads of crashes but loads of laughter too.

I asked my children to bring remote control helicopters to school if they had..Damon obliged. We first watched a video about helicopters before proceeding to the field to see Damon fly his helicopter.

We came back to class and in pairs the children had to design their own 3D helicopters using recycled items. We will collect anti waste tomorrow at recycling and see the results on Friday..watch this space!
