How and Why

This term our theme is a scientific one and is called How and Why? We started the first day with a taste test. Each child had to guess what they were tasting - sweet sour or bitter. It was so funny watching their expressions!

  

       

       

     

 

 Then it was - who has the longest and bendiest tongue! We learnt that the tongue is a muscle that is why we can bend it and move it around.

      

Lastly we learnt that our tongue has taste buds. These taste buds are sensitive to various flavours. There were a variety of food stuffs to try, like vinegar, salt, sugar, ginger biscuits and hot sauce We identified where on our tongue we could pick up the flavour and filled in our findings on a worksheet.
