Rafts ahoy!

Thursday our classes had lots of fun designing and making rafts.
They were given a brief earlier in the week and had come to school prepared.

They really enjoyed working together. It was so interesting to see the different designs. I am pleased to see how well my class is learning the important skill of group work.

The completed rafts, all ready to test out at the pool!

There was so much excitement when each pair got to sail their raft. It was a rather windy day, so the rafts went careering across the pool. Only a few survived. As we discussed afterwards, those that had a big solid base were the rafts that worked the best and didnt capsize when the seas got rough!

Molemo and Sunshines raft was the most successful craft from my class.
A big thank you must go, once again to you wonderful parents' for all your support with our Grade 2 endeavours!
