Pirate biscuits

This week we have been discussing the living conditions aboard ship as well as the types of food pirates may have eaten.

Their staple food were biscuits made from flour and water, otherwise known as hard tack. They were stored on board ship and were often riddled with weevils. Megan and I made some with our classes on Wednesday. We are waiting for them to dry out...and believe it or not the children can't wait to taste them!

We will be making some more food on our sleep over night...it remains to be seen if the children will be keen to eat that food!
