Our grade 2 children did themselves proud at the Zulu day held at Girls college. They spoke out loudly and clearly.
There were other schools who also presented Zulu items on the day. Afterwards they were treated to traditional food - samp and beans and vegetable stew.
In order to reinforce the afrikaans vocabulary for my body - we had a little fun and made faces out of biscuits and learnt some new vocab along the way!
To finish off our mini theme on Elephants after a busy week, we tried our hands at rhyming poetry. This was a real challenge for some, and I needed to give quite a bit of guidance. Others really came up with some lovely ideas. We made elephant faces out of paper plates to display them in our classroom.
